Keep SetFlow in Sync with Your DJ Library

Step 8 of 8Updated 3 min read

Bought new tracks or retagged some? Export again and import the new file. SetFlow adds what is new, updates what it already has, and keeps your sets.

Re-import after you change your library

SetFlow doesn't watch your DJ software, so after you buy tracks, analyse them or change tags, bring the changes in yourself. It's the same as your first import:

  1. Export your collection again, or close Serato (step 3 has the steps for each).
  2. In Library, press Import library and drop in the new file or folder.
  3. New tracks are added. Tracks SetFlow already has are updated with their new BPM, key and tags, not added twice. Your playlists and crates are brought up to date too.

Your sets and edits stay put

  • Sets: every set in History stays as it is.
  • Energy and genre you set in SetFlow, on one track, on many at once or with Fix genres, are kept. If you've changed that track's energy or genre in your DJ software since, the newer change wins.
Tip

Moved your music to a new drive or folder? Re-import so SetFlow has the new file locations. Playlists you export afterwards point at the right files, and the Mix view can find them again.

Duplicates after importing

SetFlow treats tracks with the same title and artist as one track. So duplicates you see usually differ slightly: a remix name, an “(Original Mix)”, or the artist spelled two ways.

  • Health lists likely duplicates. Open Health and check them: keep one copy of each, so the same song can't land twice in one set.
  • Fix artists merges re-imports. When the only difference is how the artist is spelled, Fix artists in Library Health merges the copies.
  • Tidy at the source. Remove the duplicate in your DJ software too, so it doesn't come back next time.

Questions

Do I lose my sets when I re-import?

No. Re-importing updates the tracks SetFlow already has and adds new ones. Your saved sets stay in History.

Why do I see duplicates after importing?

SetFlow treats tracks with the same title and artist as one track, so duplicates usually differ slightly: a remix name, or the artist spelled two ways. Library Health lists likely duplicates, and Fix artists merges the copies that differ only in how the artist is spelled.
